International transport

CubaConnect has strong links with the well-known Vienna travel agency Ganesha Travel that, for more than 30 years, has been organising group tours to Moscow, St Petersburg and other regions of Russia; trips on the Trans-Siberian Railway; visits to other countries including Ukraine, China, Tibet, India and Nepal; and regular ocean voyages. Ganesha Travel will always seek out the very best deal for you and will also take on the task of organising your visa and other travel requirements.
In conjunction with CubaConnect, Ganesha Travel is organising a group trip to Cuba in February 2015. You can find out more by contacting .

An important note about your visa

You will need a visa to enter Cuba. A visa typically allows a visitor to stay in the country for up to 30 days but can usually be renewed for a further 30 days once you are there.
Depending on your country of origin, it should be possible to obtain a visa prior to travel from the Cuban embassy or a consulate – or sometimes even from your own airline at the airport on departure. All good travel agents will be able to offer you appropriate advice.
Although it is possible to obtain a visa on arrival at Havana airport, we very strongly recommend that you obtain one in advance of flying. We know of at least three reputable airlines that, when overbooked, refused boarding to those passengers not yet in possession of a visa. That in turn invalidated their already-booked return flights, forcing them to attempt to make completely new travel arrangements at minimal notice.

Transport within Cuba

Return transportation between the airport and your accommodation in Havana is included in your CubaConnect package.
Our approved and experienced drivers speak either English or German.
They are also available, as requested, to take you around Havana as you explore the exciting and picturesque city. Please note, however, that taxi services other than the airport transfers are not included in our CubaConnect package price and you will have to pay for them separately.

Additional activities and excursions

There is always plenty to keep you occupied in Cuba but we can also organise and book a number of attractive special activities for you. Subject to availability, they include:
  • private Spanish language courses
  • visits to the opera, to the ballet, to modern dancing events and to several music festivals

  • an opportunity to meet dancers from Cuba’s internationally famous School of Modern Dance
  • visits to art galleries, museums and historical exhibitions
  • a visit to a training school for young boxers
We are also able to arrange, at highly competitive rates, a range of excursions – both within Cuba and in the wider Caribbean region – that will enhance the enjoyment of your visit even further.
